My daughter and I signed up for this class the night before so I wasn’t aware that Mam could customize the menu. We were so happy with the menu that she selected and were sorry that we didn’t add on the market shopping to our class. I thought that it would be a touristy market but heard from the two other attendants that it was an authentic Thai market.
Getting there was a breeze. We took the sky train to the stop that they told us and Bjjion her husband was waiting there in his van to pick us up, what a nice gentleman.
At the class there were a total of 4 students so we got hands on and explanations for all of our questions.
The food was the best Thai I have had. Their home was very lovely and inviting.
Her husband gave us a list of sites to see and even drove us to one of them. We highly recommend this class, you will not be disappointed. (Originally posted at TripAdvisor)

Mam is a cook who uses only fresh products and she teaches very good. She listens to your special wishes and is good in explaning things. She tells a lot about the ingrediënts and makes time to answer all your questions. Her husband Björn is helping her and can give you information about trips. I’ve joined 4 times of cooking classes in Bangkok including Mythai, which are much more focused and good than other classes.
Mam and her Norwegian husband were so kind.
I took a private class for 2hours 30 minute.
I went to the Samroong Market with Mam where local people go. but it was different to other cooking classes. it was REAL local market!
The cooking class place was very clean and cool.

We did the Thai cooking course and really enjoyed the time. we get a great feeling about the cooking methods and the real taste of Thai food. Mam is a awesome person and we had so much fun. I am not a regular in the kitchen at home but was impressed by the whole experience. After a short journey on the BTS we were met at the station. We visited a local fruit and veg market where we were the only tourists. Sights and smells very different from home. Highly recommend. After making purchases we cooked several delicious dishes and now have the recipes and understanding to allow us to try this at hope. Due to Bangkok traffic we were a bit late to the meeting point. Mam accommodated us and arranged a new meeting point closer to the market. (Google maps said 36mins but probably best to give yourself an hour). We had a flight the evening and Mam ensured that we got an extremely thorough class while still being mindful of our time constraints. It was fantastic to be able to see an authentic local market. We got to choose the four dishes we made which included making our own curry paste for a massaman curry. Mam made sure we were both very involved in the process. Mam’s husband took some excellent pictures throughout the class and market tour and sent them on to us that evening. The recipes were also emailed to us within 24 hours. Had a great time with Mam and her husband, learning to cook some delicious Thai dishes in a very hands on way. We went to the market to buy fresh ingredients with additional items pointed out and explained to me.
The class itself was great and Mam allowed me to prep, cut, cook and alter the dishes as we went along.
Mam is super knowledgeable about ingredients, recipes and ways to alter tastes to suit.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with her and her husband, who happily shared additional recommendations of things to see and do in the area.

I was the only person that scheduled the evening cooking course, so I received a private cooking lesson. The hosts are extremely friendly, accommodating (I’m lactose intolerant so they showed me how to make coconut milk from scratch), social and nice. You definitely get to see how suburban Thai looks as Mam and her husband take you on a tour of the area in their car and to their lovely home. Cooking was straight forward, Mam walks you through the steps and gives you tips along the way. I cook but not often, so she provided me with tips to help my technique, substitute ingredients for items that may be hard to come by, and made the learning process simple. I highly recommend this if you are looking to learn how to cook authentic Thai, just want to eat a home cooked Thai meal or looking for a fun event. Chef Mam thought of everything! Her cooking class was THE total experience from beginning to end and this was one of the best experiences I had in Bangkok. Chef Mam catered to what Thai food we wanted to learn to cook, the Thai foods we enjoyed, any food restrictions, and level of spice. Prior to the class, we created a menu of four dishes with the chef’s help. We met at a very easy spot and then were transported to her comfortable, clean and organized kitchen. She was very knowledgable about Thai cuisine, a skilled cook, and very patient with us as we began our hands on lesson in cooking Thai food. Pictures were taken during this experience and sent to us later. We learned about the use of spices, fruits, vegetables, and proteins specific to our dishes. All recipes were sent to us. After our cooking was completed, we sat down at a beautifully set table with a glass of lemongrass drink and enjoyed eating our dishes. Any leftovers were packaged up and sent hope with us. We were then taken back to our meeting place. Chef Mam wanted to make this experience a joyful and personal experience for us and to share her love for Thai cuisine and culture. Chef Mam’s husband was also delightful company and shared a list of some additional tourist attractions, his love of food, and his love of Bangkok with us.
