We met up and headed to a local market and from there off to cook. I was the only student, which was perfect. Got to ask all I wanted and do everything myself. Thai green curry came out amazing. The other dishes were good too. Was a good experience overall. (Originally Posted at AirBNB)

Out of all of the many experiences I have done with Airbnb, Mam’s cooking class was the best. I highly recommend that you experience it as well. I had a great cooking experience and was lucky to be the only person so it was like a private class. Mam and her husband were awesome hosts, we talked about food and travel. I especially liked that you can pick a dish of your choice to cook. I also went to the market with them and it was nice having her tell me what some of the herbs and vegetables were. We booked the cooking class for our family (2 adult and 2 children). We had a fantastic time with the chef (her name is Mam). She gave a lot of patience to our children and us at preparing the dishes we have chosen in advance. Also the visit on the local food market was made according our wishes.

We had a great time with Mam and her husband. We got t try a couple of things at the market and then went to their house where we got hands on instruction and tips from Mam about cooking our Thai dishes. It was really awesome that we got a big say in what we decided to learn to cook. The dishes were delicious and they were very friendly. We had a great time getting to know them. After a full day in Bangkok, we realized late that evening that we could not book many activities like floating market or cooking classes for the next day. Fortunately, we found this one. Not only were we able to book it 1.5 hours before the 11 AM start time, it was also way better than expected! Meeting at a BTS station was very convenient. Mam and her husband Bjorn were very friendly, generous, and super knowledgeable. You felt like family the whole time, invited to their beautiful home in a gated community to share in their passion for Thai cooking, tasting and tweaking the recipe along the way to our tastes, and enjoying a full meal at the end with an extra mango sticky rice in our case to take home with us. They also sent full recipes and many photos of the experience afterwards, and invited us to contact them anytime if we had questions or just want to say hi. Bjorn even drove us to a market at a different BTS station, parked, and walked with us to the market to find the tools that were used in the cooking class so that we can have them too. All of this is way above and beyond all expectations for the cooking class. It was incredible, genuine hospitality at its finest, and easily our best experience in Bangkok. I was in Bangkok for a work trip and was so happy to experience this cooking class as a part of my stay. Mam greeted us at the train station then showed us around the local food market, which was full of interesting sights and smells. Then after we picked up some wine, we returned to their home where we started the cooking class. Mam had prepared everything and kept some important tasks for us to learn along the way. Who knew chili paste was so difficult to make! Mam was the sweetest host and a great teacher, the entire experience was very well thought-out and executed. I highly recommend My Thai Cooking! This was an amazing experience for my daughter and me. Mam and her Norwegian husband were delightful. They picked us up at the metro station and took us directly to the local market where we saw authentic local foods and wares.
The class took place in their home where Mam had everything set up for teaching us how to make some delicious vegetarian Thai dishes.

Let’s start off with Mam, she is a sweet, lovely and very helpful thai lady. Her and her husband waited patiently for us as we were stuck in traffic and a few minutes late. We then went to a lively local food market and got to see how the locals buy their ingredients as well as getting our own. We then went to their house were we were taught how to make 4 delicious dishes, 1 of which we got to choose ourselves. She then explained the whole process to us step by step while helping us cook. We then got to eat these delicious dishes and take any leftovers home. Myself and my friend would highly recommend this cooking class. It was a lot of fun and worth every bhat! Cannot more highly recommend Mam’s cooking class. She was so sweet and accommodating with our group. She made adjustments for dietary restrictions and asked which dishes we would like to make. Cooking with her was a blast and all of the food was delicious. Transport was also a breeze- she picked us up from the metro station and drove us back at the end. My mother and I had a wonderful experience with our Thai cooking class. We were picked up at the BTS station (very easy to navigate!) by Mam, a lovely Thai lady, and her Norwegian husband, Bjork. We stopped at the local market for a very authentic shopping experience (highly recommended!).

We arrived at their modest home in a residential area where we prepared all the meals. Mam is a true gem and we loved learning from her expert skills in cooking. The smells and flavors were just devine! Our meals were the best of all the meals we’ve had in Thailand (even better than the Mandarin Oriental!) We had so much fun every step of the way!
